Terry Bozzio Drum Clinic

This was an extra special weekend. On Friday I had the privilege of catching Terry Bozzio play to an intimate crowd of drooling drummers and music enthusiasts. The outdoor clinic was hosted by our friends at Bananas in downtown San Rafael. It was freezing cold and I didn't bring a coat (after 5 years I still don't understand California whether). But that didn't stop me from smiling ear to ear as Terry reminded us that there is more to drums than just laying down beats.

For those of you who don't know him, Terry is one of the most unique, respected, and accomplished players out there. His quest to realize the kit as a complete musical instrument has lead him to create an unmistakable sound - a sound that has backed mega bands as early as Frank Zappa and as recently as Korn. What's great is that his philosophy is still completely fresh, his playing still new, and his sound still relevant. Oh yeah, and his kit is completely badass.
