MONO in Chicago?

Pat here. I'll be heading off to Chicago with my wife for a few days at the end of this week for a little vacation. I'll stop by some shops in Chicago for a little business as well. One of the other reasons why we wanted to hit Chicago is to....EAT! Foodies unite! Here are some of the things we want to check out.

1. Chicago Chop House - People say that if you go to the windy city that you can't leave without eating some kind of beef product. Hopefully it will look something like the picture to the left.


2. Gino's East - Chicago pizza. It's the exact opposite of what New York pizza is where slices are thin yet tasty. Chicago pizza features something that resembles more of a pie and is deeeeeeeep like the ocean. Layering is somewhat of an understatement and I can bet that there are endless amounts of combinations that can be incorporated into those layers. I've had Chicago style pizza, but never in Chicago. People tell me that it's not the same, and I believe them. Gino's East it is.

3. Chicago style hotdogs - Celery salt, tomato, poppy seed bun, pickle spear, but never ketchup. This is serious meal and I can't help but want one when I step foot off that plane. What's not to like about hot dogs? This will be a unique experience because I've always been explained what this style of hot dog has tasted like. I think my taste buds will be plenty happy.

So I'll let you know how it goes out in the windy city. Hopefully I will come back at the same weight, but it's totally doubtful.
