NAMM Oddities

Do you know Barry Wood? Then perhaps you know he's been a purveyor of fine oddities since 1998 via his blog, otherroom.com.

We're honored to make his list of oddities in the NAMM '08 report. Thanks for the kind words, Barry:

Move over Helmet, MONO has just found it's featured band!!!

After submitting this tape to MONO headquarters, we here at MONO studios are now making it public that we have found a new band to become our featured artists. They come highly regarded. I am sure you will hear from them very soon. Here is a clip of their rendition of the song "The Final Countdown" by Europe.

NAMM ultimately means 3 things will happen.

1. Standing for 10-12 hours straight.
2. Talking for 10-12 hours straight.
3. Rockstars show up!

Victor Wooten. Not much to say about the man. He can do anything on the bass. I got the chance to sit in while he was demoing a HenBev bass. Scotty, the guy who makes them, says he only makes 4 strings for 1 reason. Victor Wooten. Here he is checking out one of the newest MONO products, the dopest guitar straps EVER MADE.



Will Calhoun. D was flipping out when our friend Nick from Wales told us he would get Will to come to the booth. We were about to close up shop for the day when Will flagged us down. Our newest MONO supporter.

Off to NAMM!

Pack your bags, load your ipods, and get ready to rock. Tomorrow we hit the road for our second debut at NAMM! This is going to be an awesome show and we are STOKED!

It's amazing how fast the year flew by. Thanks to all of you who have been supporting MONO and spreading the word since our official launch at last year's NAMM show. Come see us at booth #1252, hall E. We got a double-wide this year so it won't be so cramped.

Some of our players will be coming by too, including the guys from Helmet and THE Victor Wooten. We're going to try to get a jam session going on.
