29 Drummers

Due to astronomical events, we find ourselves adding an extra day to the month of February. This only happens every 4 years, so I'd like to celebrate this February 29th by giving a shout-out to 29 drummers who rock on a universal level. These guys (unfortunately they are ALL guys) are all over the map, but they have each made their way to my speakers and logged some serious air time. To the 29, thanks for the inspiration. Go play.

Totimoshi: MONOplayers in the studio!

We came, we saw...they conquered. These guys are off the hook. We love their sound, their commitment to their heritage, and keeping themselves real. Page Hamilton produces this album with Toshi Kasai engineering. You can't go wrong with that mixture of talent and experience. D and I have a feeling that this may be Totimoshi's breakthrough album. Their efforts from before are brilliant, but we really hope this one puts them on a map they so need to be on. People need to listen and hear this trio. Every song is a story, and every story comes with it the emotions of Tony and Meg. They seriously kick some ass on their instruments, but it really isn't the music that makes them special. It's the ability to tell that story that sets them apart from a lot of bands. Where words fail, I take photos...and so here they are...Totimoshi in Sharkbite Studios.
