The Roots @ Highline Ballroom, NYC 4/21/09

We were there. So was Dice Raw. Damn this was a show that anticipation was meant for. I don't know how much of their set is scripted, but the improv that comes from the Roots is a thing of beauty. The Roots have been giving it to us live for a long time now, but the format of these Tuesday night jams are ridiculous. You never know who is going to show up. Talib Kweli? Sure!





The place was darn near packed so large that I thought my wallet had been lifted a few times. I was glad to be in the front where all action was to take place. Whipped out my camera to shoot a few frames. Captain Kirk was pretty much on fire that night. It was MC after MC spilling out onto stage.





Hey those of you in NYC, you better tell your friends about the rest of these shows. They won't last long with only 14 on bill. I'd say they are half over and you don't want to miss out.
