Evan has been with MONO only for a short period of time, but he well established and is making strides as Bass Player magazine has named him one of the top 3 most exciting new players. Evan's blend of jazz and funk has garnered him honors from around the bass community.
Between the ages of 18 and 19 he became one of the youngest artist endorsers for Eden Amplifiers and Rotosound Bass Strings.
In 2006, Evan came to Berklee College of Music in Boston where he began his professional music career. As a student there, Evan has had the opportunity to play with some amazing professional musicians and many of the top students at the school. At Berklee, he studied privately with bassists like Matthew Garrison, Bruce Gertz, Lincoln Goines, and Oscar Stagnaro. Matthew Garrison proved to be a very pivotal person in his life, and Evan developed a close friendship with Matt. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music '09 with high honors, Evan has worked with some of the world’s greatest musicians. He has performed or recorded with David Fiuczynski, Jack Dejohnette, Kenwood Dennard, Matthew Garrison, Etienne Mbappe, Greg Osby, Joe Lovano, John Blackwell (Prince, Justin Timberlake), Joseph Wooten, Fred Wesley (James Brown), Rob Hecht (Elizabeth and the Catapult), Jeff Taylor, Nick Groesch (The Polyphonic Spree) and many others. He has also worked with Jetro Da Silva (Whitney Houston), George Garzone, Eugene Maslov, Lin Biviano, Deantoni Parks (Mars Volta, Me’shell Ndegeocello), and Wayne Krantz.
Evan has toured all over the US and in Europe. He has performed notably at the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival 2008 (Aruba), Charlie Wrights (London), Knitting Factory (US), Mannheim US Army Base (Germany), and Green Mill (Chicago) He has released 4 solo albums on his independent record label EvanMarienProductions. From the first album he released at the age of 18 to his latest album "The Way", he has sold copies internationally to places like the Netherlands, Denmark, India, Austria, France, and Hungary. A new album entitled "Between Worlds" featuring David Fiuczynski is due out in the Summer/Fall 09. At a young age of 22, Evan shows incredible maturity and depth as a musician......the best has yet to come.
