Me'Shell

Me'Shell

We got to hang with her and the crew for a special night in Oakland at The New Parish. This club is swank and already has had a reputation of putting on some killing shows. Mos Def, Common, and some super heavy hitters have already graced the stage there. The place is tiny, but the sound bytes coming from that place are huge. Me'Shell and band came out firing off missiles from the get go. "The Sloganeer: Paradise" off of her 2007 release was killing the crowd, that song moves in so many ways.

Me'Shell also has a ridiculous cast of players in her band as well. Deantoni Parks of Kudu uses his manic drum skills. His energy also feeds Mark Kelley on bass. There is a reason Me'Shell asked Mark to double with her on bass for her band. This man is all about the sonic business. Chris Bruce, who also produced her newest Devil's Halo, brings in his guitar skills. You can hear him on plenty of records including Aimee Mann's Forgotten Arm, and Human Being by Seal.
